With the current political and financial climate in the U.S, some corporations and rich individuals have already chosen to make the move to another state, as high tax rates remain for those in California- three years ago, Amazon made a surprise move to cancel their plans for their second headquarter in New York City, in spite of promises from the mayor of creating a tax haven for the company.
What are the actual impacts of massive tax breaks for corporations and who do they effect?
In today's episode of 'This House Debates', Hannah moderates the debate between Jacob and Joseph from the McGill Debating Union (Side Proposition) and Maria and Noah from the Hart House Debate Club (Side Opposition), on the topic: THW prohibit cities from offering tax credits and other incentives to attract large companies.
