All ex-con Joe Denton (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) wants to do is stay on the straight and narrow, and see his kids again. Unfortunately, he has to deal with a dubious reputation as "The Slash Cop", judgmental parents, and his former partner (Gary Cole) demanding that he kill an ailing mob boss, lest all their dirty deeds be revealed to the district attorney who Denton went to prison for brutally wounding in the first place.
