 Some big news has been coming from Walt Disney World.  Characters, masks, and the Guardians of the Galaxy top the headlines.  Then we will discuss…whatever.  We have no topic, so we’ll just share some thoughts from our recent trips to the Most Magical Celebration on Earth.  This is Episode 86 of the Mickeyphile Podcast.

 

 

1.          Character Meet & Greets are back!

  1. Hugs, High 5’s & Autographs return to WDW
  2. Couples Characters added to Festival of Fantasy Parade
  3. Additional Characters added throughout the Parks

2.          Face Covering Mandate Changed Effective 4/19

  1. Face coverings are now optional on enclosed transportation and recommended for those not fully vaccinated. (As posted on MDE)

3.          GoTG DVC Preview and AP Preview were released on 4/14. DVC Dates are 5/9 & 5/18 and AP Dates are 5/8-5/10, 5/15 & 5/16 and 5/18-5/21 and assigned in 30-minute windows.

  1.   “Awesome Mix” soundtrack of six songs, in their classic versions:

  4. “Conga”
  5. “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
  6. “I Ran”
  7. “One Way or Another”
  8. Eson, the Celestial is listed as the Villain

4.          Drawn to Life has a NEW dining package!

  1. “Animated Evening - Drawn to Life Prix Fixe Dining Offer.”
  2. You can choose from 13 participating Disney Springs restaurants, which all offer a prix fixe menu priced at $45 or $65 per person, depending on the location (tax and gratuity not included).
  3. You must purchase Drawn to Life tickets before booking the dining package. 

5.          World of Color to use Virtual Queue when it returns to Disney California Adventure on 4/22 

6.          Bus Service ended between SWGS and Disney Springs

  1. This was due to the fact that Check-in opened at 11 am but Guest Entry doesn’t begin until 1 pm - hence the Service has rarely been used since it began 1 month ago

7.          National Geographic introduces Disney+ Subscription Bundle

  1. Monthly at $10.99, Annual at $109.00

8.          WDW CM blackout dates lifted until Memorial Day

9.          Disney Visa Cardmembers savings up to 30% on WDW Hotels from 8/28 - 9/19

 

 

DVC News

1.          On April 15, 2022, Disney Vacation Club increased the number of vacation homes at Disney’s Riviera Resort that members can book using points.

Thirteen vacation homes, located on the west side of the sixth floor, were added to Riviera’s DVC inventory, 

2 Studios, 1 (1 Bedroom), 9 (2 Bedroom Lockoffs) & 1 Grand Villa
