If you’re in a marriage in which you are together but alone, are you stuck and struggling in a particular area? If you’re trying to encourage somebody in such a marriage, are you aware of the traps and pitfalls that they may face? That’s what we looking at on this episode of Married By Design.
Today we want to deal with some common roadblocks and pitfalls one may encounter when trying to walk this lonely road in a way that pleases the Lord. It can be a real challenge to navigate through such a relationship. We are human and can find ourselves getting stuck in certain areas that can render us ineffective and struggling. This week we want to look at one special passage in Hebrews 12:12-15 - a great passage for seeing our way through some of the pitfalls that can keep us from pursuing God and a godly marriage when we feel we are going it alone.
Your homework, should you choose to accept it, is to pick one of these roadblocks that specifically applies to you. Memorize the verse in Hebrews that relates to it and begin to study it on your own. Ask others that you’re close to for other verses and insight into this issue. If you’re trying to help somebody in a difficult marriage, you may see what in these verses verses what they are struggling with. Pray specifically about that issue and pray for opportunity to talk to them about it.
