Angela Duckworth's book, "Grit", tells us that one characteristic emerges as a predictor of success. It wasn’t social intelligence, good looks, physical health, nor IQ. It was GRIT – the passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. So how do those with chronic pain practice GRIT? You must develop a growth mindset and believe that you can persevere, even when you fail.
Practically, you must become a DOER of the Word. In Christ, doing isn’t just for you. It’s for greater purposes - HIS purposes. You’re part of a greater experience. You must stop living in fear of death and failure, and begin walking by faith in Jesus.
When you walk with Jesus and trust in God, He will provide you with spiritual eyes that enhance your ability to see things from an eternal perspective and then to act accordingly. It’s not the strength of your belief that matters. It’s actually the strength of the thing in which you believe.
