Concerning End Times
Eschatology: The Judgements
Revelation 20:7-15
Last week, we learned that the Millennial Kingdom must take place because of the promises that God made to Jesus, to humanity, to the nation of Israel, to the church, and to the rest of creation. We learned that there will be living people, not people with glorified bodies, living in the world during this time. Those living people, who knew and served Jesus, will have children during those thousand years who will not completely share their passion for Christ. With peace, the population of the earth will grow immensely during this time. Those who are born will be born by natural means and still have natural tendencies from the fall. Although this kingdom is ruled by Christ, it is still a worldly kingdom. By that I mean, the world’s sinful influences remain. Their sinful tendencies must be dealt with after the millennial reign.
Those are the two judgments. One for Christians and one for non-Christians. Although both are presided over by Christ, they could not be more different. They are different in time, setting, outcome, and severity. Knowing this now, how do we respond? What do you think we should do in light of this? The same reactions that I have been telling you this whole series. Be thankful and breathe easy. Be thankful. Aren’t you thankful that Jesus saved you? You should be thankful that the one who loved you enough to save you is the same one who will be seated on the throne that will judge you. Be thankful that there is no more condemnation for you if you are in Christ Jesus.
