The Beatitudes: Meekness
Matthew 5:5
Meekness - Mildness of disposition or gentleness of spirit, humble towards God and others
The disciples understood meekness in two ways:
1. Being able to control your strength, your words, and your emotions in order to deal gently with others.
2. Remaining humble enough to receive God’s direction, discipline, equipping, etc.
How does this apply to Great Commission Disciples today?
1. Be humble and receive God’s assignment.
2. Be sacrificial for the betterment of others.
3. Be mild and gentle with others in discipleship.
4. Then, receive Christ’s promise of earthly closeness to Himself.
