The Creation

3 Truths:
1. God created the entire universe out of nothing.
a. Biblical evidence: Gen. 1:1; Psalm 33:6-9; John 1:3; Col. 1:16
b. Man was made differently: Gen. 2:7; 21-23
c. Jesus and the Holy Spirit had a part to play in creation: John 1:3; Gen. 1:2; Job 33:4
d. Creation is distinct from and dependent on God: Acts 17:25,28
2. It was originally very good.
a. Gen 1:4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31; 1 Tim. 4:4-5
3. God Created the universe to show His glory.
a. Isaiah 43:7; Psalm 19:1-2
What about when creation scriptures conflict with science?
1. When studied with a Christian worldview, science and creation do not conflict.
2. When weighed against scripture, some theories are inconsistent with God’s truth.
3. The age of the earth is a fun, but unfinishable debate among Christians.
Application:
Glorify Creator God by:
1. Enjoying His creation.
2. Using the earth’s resources.
3. Discovering and inventing new things.
4. Worshipping creatively.
