Concerning Sin: Redemption and the Believer
John 3:1-8; Romans 3:21-27; Ephesians 2:1-8; Romans 9:14-23; Romans 10:13
Do we play any role in the process of redemption?
1. John 3:1-8
a. Nicodemus could not earn it.
b. Nicodemus could not cause His rebirth.
c. Nicodemus was not the Holy Spirit.
2. Romans 3:21-27
a. Righteousness and the law are separate.
b. Grace is a gift.
c. Redemption lies only in Christ Jesus.
3. Ephesians 2: 1-10
a. We were dead in our sin.
b. In mercy, God made us alive.
c. We are saved by grace through faith.
d. There is no personal work or reason to boast.
e. We are His predestined workmanship.
We have no role in our redemption! It is a gift!
