What’s on your mind, unicorn? 🦄 Send me a text!

Do you meditate? How about journaling? If you avoid these practices, you're not alone.

However – it is absolutely time to stop avoiding practices that that help you to quiet your mind. Here's why.

In this episode, I share some of the latest evidence in neuroscience which makes a compelling case for why meditation is potentially the most powerful thing you can do to support your mental health.

Particularly combined with other practices like journaling, breathwork, and/or prayer,  meditation is an amazing tool for strengthening the part of your brain that makes you act less like a reactive animal and more like a compassionate, loving human.

Which is – SURPRISE – what every religion has been doing for humans throughout time.

In a world where so many of us have left traditional religious practices, we are no longer giving our neo-cortex a regular workout. Without the regular reps of things like ritual, prayer, and quiet contemplation, this very important part of our brain is turning to a bowl full of jelly!

So. For the sake of your own humanity, please start meditating. XOXO

**In this episode, I reference data from this Harvard article,
a study mentioned in this article, and some takeaways in this interview with Arthur Brooks and my mentor, Cathy Heller (such a great listen.)

About the Untethered Practices Series
Over the past couple of weeks, I am offering a glimpse into Untethered Practices — some mindfulness, energetic, and healing modalities that may be considered “woo-woo” or fringe to some.  (And by some, I mean myself, not so long ago.)

The intention with this series is to give you a glimpse into what these practices are,  why people do them, and to help you see if it’s something you may be curious to try!

If there’s a modality you’re curious about, I’m happy to go try it and report back. Send me a message or email! (Links below)
