Description

Pamela Hawley is the founder and CEO of UniversalGiving, a nonprofit with a vision to "make giving and volunteering a natural part of everyday life." UniversalGiving is an award-winning platform that connects people with top-performing global volunteer opportunities and projects. The organization also offers UniversalGiving Corporate, which helps companies like Cisco and BEA launch philanthropy and volunteer programs worldwide. UniversalGiving has been featured in CNNMoney.com, the New York Times, and the L.A. Times.

Ms. Hawley co-founded VolunteerMatch, a nonprofit that has matched over two million volunteers with nonprofits. She also launched VolunteerMatch Corporate (VMC), which created employee volunteer programs for corporations. Under her leadership, VMC gained 20 Fortune 500 clients, including Coca-Cola, Dell, Gap, Levi's, Microsoft, and Nike, contributing to 43% of the organization’s sustainability.

Ms. Hawley began volunteering at age 12 and has worked internationally in areas like microfinance in India, disaster relief in El Salvador, digital training in Cambodia, and sustainable farming in Guatemala. She earned a political science degree cum laude from Duke University and studied international communications at USC's Annenberg School. She is a guest lecturer at USC and has spoken at events for Business for Social Responsibility, Ethical Corporation, and schools such as Stanford and UCLA on topics like Corporate Social Responsibility, Global Philanthropy, and Social Entrepreneurship.

In her free time, Ms. Hawley enjoys improv, dancing, and spending time with her nephews and niece.
