Mark Fischer-Colbrie serves as the president and CEO of Labcyte, bringing over 30 years of expertise in launching and scaling innovative diagnostics, medical devices, therapeutics, and high-tech solutions for growth-focused companies. His career spans guiding startups from inception, through IPOs, and into substantial revenue milestones.
Before joining Labcyte, Mark was the CFO at Adeza Biomedical Corporation, a women’s healthcare startup that went public in December 2004 and was later acquired for $450 million. During his tenure, he was named as the inventor on four patents and six patent applications and spearheaded the business development function for three years.
Earlier in his career, Mark held key leadership roles, including vice president of finance, corporate controller, and advanced technology business manager at a disk drive manufacturer. Under his leadership, the company scaled from a startup to $1.2 billion in revenue and successfully completed an IPO.
Mark holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mark is deeply committed to advancing critical causes. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and is also a board member of the Analytical, Life Science & Diagnostic Association (ALDA). His contributions to the life sciences industry have earned him significant recognition, including being named a National EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2013 Life Sciences Finalist and the Northern California EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2013 Life Sciences Winner, alongside Labcyte CTO Rich Ellson.
