Imagine having awesome names like Han and Leia and then calling your son Ben. Ben's a fine name in our galaxy but in a galaxy far far away, where the choices could've been Anakin, Lando or even Watto...I'd have been super disappointed if named 'Ben'. Same argument applies for Luke, or Chewbacca.
