Description

In this episode, I share with you the importance of keeping calm in times when you could lose your cool with your child.

Whether they are two, twelve or twenty two, children are learning how to deal with life skills and highly charged emotions. In times when their emotions are out of control, they do not want to see you mirroring and imitating their behaviour by losing it, screaming shouting and generally not holding your emotions together.

I know they push your buttons, but you are the adult. You are their role model. You are their hero. You are their support. End of! Your child needs to feel safe and secure in an environment where they can express their emotions knowing that you are going to have their back.

There are many tips and tricks I can show you to support you in recognising and reacting appropriately to their behaviour during these difficult times and in response afterwards. It is not about letting your child get away with things or allowing them to talk to you as they please, but the starting point must be how you react to these situations.

Remember, parenting is more about your leadership skills than you controlling your child's behaviour.

Enjoy! xx
