Description

As a consumer, it can be challenging to know if a business walks the talk when it comes to environmental and social impact. Many businesses struggle to communicate the impact they do make. This is where certifications can be useful tools. But with so many different certifications out there, it can be hard to know what they really mean. B Corp is a different type of certification than something like Greenguard or Organic certifications because it looks at a business holistically rather than a single impact area. This episode was originally going to be focused on the B Corp certification, but we went so much deeper than that. I think this was a really great conversation for conscious consumers and businesses alike.

We discuss:
- What is a conscious business.
- What makes certified B Corporations different
- The criteria business have to demonstrate compliance with
- How toxins come into play
- Is the B Corp seal enough for consumers to trust the brand
- Busting the myth that it's cost-prohibitive for small businesses
- How conscious consumers and conscious businesses can change the world
