Description

Is organic meat and dairy worth the cost premium? And what about the difference between free range, free run, hormone free, and all the other marketing claims out there?

Did you know that all poultry and pork have no hormones added in Canada and the US? And yet, lots of packaging proudly proclaim it - and sometimes charge more because of it - even though the package beside without the label is also free from added hormones.

And what about antibiotics. Well, they might not be as big of a concern as you once thought thanks to regulation changes.

Being a conscious food consumer can be a challenge. And when you don't have the means to just grab organic regardless of the cost, it's important to understand what you're actually investing in - and how you can make informed decisions.

This episode breaks it all down for you.

I cover:
- What's required for organic meat and dairy certification
- How organic differs from conventionally-raised meat (and what similarities there are)
- What other labelling claims mean
- How to buy organic on a budget
