Description

“This product contains ingredients known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm.”

These labels are seemingly everywhere now thanks to Proposition 65, a California State law that – thanks to online retail – has now made itself known across the US and Canada.

But what does it really mean? And should you panic if you see it on a product you thought was safe – or hadn’t even considered there might be a concern?

In this episode I walk you through:

●     How Prop65 works

●     What businesses are required to do by law

●     How legal loopholes have exploited the intent

●     What the labels mean for consumers

Green at Home is no longer an operating business, as its founder, Emma Rohmann, has gone back to her engineering roots in large-scale green building consulting. She is keeping her free resources, including the podcast and blog, live but you will find other links to resources are likely broken in these show notes.
