About Barry:
As a leader, Barry Kruse lives in two realms; he blends a white-collar professional life with a whitewater adventure life.
In the business world, Barry is global head of the Franklin Templeton Academy. This is the education arm for the world’s sixth-largest asset management firm, Franklin Templeton. His business unit delivers financial markets knowledge and business development skills to tens-of-thousands of professionals in more than 30 countries and 16 languages. In the course of his career, Barry’s programs have reached more than 600,000 learners He’s worked in nearly 50 countries and almost all 50 American states.
As a whitewater adventurer and leader, Barry’s guided rafting trips on some of the world’s most challenging rivers. He finds time to also be executive director for a non-profit whitewater summer camp for kids called Junior Guides.
He’s found a way to blend these passions in a new podcast called Leading Steep: Adventure Stories, Leadership Allegories, and Wisdom from the World’s Great Guides.
