#102// So, how do you feel about the vengeance of God?  It's a tough one, isn't it? We love to hear about, talk about and meditate on the favor of God, but what if I told you that God's favor isn't full without His vengeance working in the same realm? It's true!

The word vengeance is synonymous with the word retribution. Retribution is defined as "recompense or reward." When you break down the word retribution into its prefix and root, you get "re" + "tribute." Re means "back", and tribute means "a payment made as a symbol of submission or the price paid for protection." Therefore, retribution, in a Biblical sense, is the process of God taking back that which we had paid to a false idol for a false sense of safety, and giving it back to the only One who is worthy -- His Son, Jesus Christ! This year will be a year of experiencing God's favor, even as we observe Him reattributing the things that were stolen by and improperly given to the enemy, so He can tribute them back to Jesus. How awesome is that?!

In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing a word around God's favor and vengeance that I brought to our church, REVIVE Church of Tampa, at last Sunday's prayer service. It's a word for the new year and the season we're stepping into. I shared the word during the weekend of Rosh Hashana -- the Jewish New Year -- as we stepped into year 5783. What is God wanting to show us about His favor and His vengeance as we step into this pivotal season? That's what we're exploring in this episode, so go and grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let's Go!
