Description

In this episode, Superintendent Matsuda interviews AUHSD students, Krish Patel and Rahi Patel.

Krish Patel is a senior at Western High School and served as the Student Ambassador for Western from 2020-2021, ASB Treasurer, and RSVP President. He was able to create processing circles on campuses addressing a variety of topics including mental health, education, and political issues. Additionally, he was able to spread medical awareness on COVID related topics and worked with UCI and get trained in contact tracing. He was also able to speak at the Anaheim Collaborative Summit where numerous Pledge and AIME partners were present, including UCI, CSUF, Cypress College, and Fullerton College. He was able to talk about the success of the District and how the implementation of the 5Cs has distinguished our students not only in school, but in professional careers.

Rahi Patel is a junior at Magnolia High School and the next Student Ambassador for the 2021-2022 school year, as well as the ASB Senior Class President for the 2021-2022 School Year. This year, he collaborated with Dr. Panagis Galiatsatos, a pulmonary and critical care physician, from Johns Hopkins University to develop a COVID-19 curriculum for all 30,000 kids of AUHSD to receive premium access to a series of lectures that will allow students to educate our youth on how to become safer and beat COVID-19 in the end of the day. He entered this program because of the sudden surge of cases in the city of Anaheim and in the US, as well as his personal experiences with close relatives, friends, and others passing away. He wanted to do something for his community and "was successfully able to do it with the help of the AUHSD and Johns Hopkins University."
