In this episode of AUHSD Future Talks, Superintendent Matsuda interviews Jade Monette, a Loara High School graduate looking forward to attending Golden West College in the fall.
Jade entered the We Rise Together challenge created by the iLAB Team from Western High School. Her video shows how students can be resilient during the pandemic and turn losses into opportunities. Jade began her life-changing journey during her senior year in Economics class. She was introduced to stocks and decided to take action outside of school to learn more. Once Jade turned 18, she opened her first Roth IRA retirement account, began to find other enjoyable ways to increase her income, and found an amazing hobby to do in her spare time. All these things brought her many accomplishments and self-confidence.
