Michele opens up about her own experience with depression, food addiction, and overeating as a coping mechanism. She reveals that when she was younger, she would alternate between eating disorders and battled an addiction to fast food. She shares how she quit drinking soda and started eating healthier.
Today’s guest is Paul Calcote, a content creator and host of the podcast, Real People Real Talk. Paul tells us that he regularly sees a counselor for mental health maintenance and to give his wife a break from hearing him vent. He tells us how he likes to check in with his wife to ask how she’s really feeling and to rant about what’s bringing him joy. Paul shares that he has previously dealt with depression, food addiction, and overeating as a side effect. He tells us why he’s grateful to work as a pastor and to be able to connect with all types of people through his career. He shares how his depression has been brought on by different circumstances throughout his life, including not completing college in an expected time frame, moving to new cities, and dealing with a breakup. He tells us that he plans to write a book someday based on his own life experience.
