November is National Diabetes Month and November 14 is World Diabetes Day. On this episode Misty Jones, born and raised in Dallas, Texas  and a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Texas shares her journey working with individuals with diabetes. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin and then pursued her Master's in Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.   She has also been a proud certified diabetes educator (diabetes care and education specialist) since 2007.  She has dedicated her life to helping people living with diabetes improve their overall health.  She considers her role to be a life guide, here to help connect the dots between diabetes knowledge and life application.

 She shares her journey into her career and gives great educational nuggets to common questions such as ; what is diabetes? What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2, Myths vs. truth and her experience working with community health workers.
