There's no doubt, as 2021 comes to a close, that we are living through unprecedented times. For 4 years of the Trump presidency and now coming up on 2 years of a pandemic, the public has been victim to an-all out information war.
Information channels from corporate media to social media push a narrative that political polarization is a given- never in history have we seen such division, blah, blah, blah...
And it's partially true. Fear is a popular tool for persuasion.
However, face-to-face, 1 on 1 communication often yields a conflicting observation. Anecdotally at least, we at the Symphony Co. have been having productive, open-minded conversations on the regular. We've noticed people becoming more interested and engaged- more awake than ever before.
So today, we want to share an alternative view on this so-called polarization. Triggered specifically by the Rich Roll Podcast with Andrew Yang (recommended listening), Kyle and Matthew share their perspectives on this topic.
And to be clear, this isn't a disagreement or claim that Rich or Andrew or anyone else for that matter is wrong... it's just another viewpoint on the situation. Hope you enjoy :)
