How to Draw a Crowd
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him – from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.” (Matthew 4:23-25)

Christianity loves a crowd. The bigger the better. But so do others love crowds. Stores like to be full. When you see a commercial on TV, say of a car dealership, they show you a showroom and lot full of customers getting the car of their dreams on the spot. They are saying, “Come on in and get yours.” So do stadiums. Nothing like being there, especially if there’s a big screen to watch the replays on.
Christianity is after people, the more the merrier. Because people are lost and Jesus is a Savior, people are sick and Jesus is a healer, people are addicted to harmful things and Jesus is a liberator, people are ignorant of the things of the Spirit and Jesus is the preeminent master teacher of all time.
We want more people because of what goes on when we assemble. What goes on in church are the most important things in the world. We want more people, we want everybody, to praise God. He deserves it and we need it. We want more people to come and pray. The church is the house of prayer and the more people praying the better. God answers the prayers of His people and so we want more agreement prayer (Mt.18:19-20). Preaching and teaching the word of God goes on in church so we want more to hear. In this text Jesus went everywhere teaching in their synagogues (churches) and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. How can they believe unless they hear and how can they hear without a preacher (Romans 10:14). We want everybody to hear the word preached, to worship God and to pray together. So what’s the best way to get more people together? How do we draw a crowd?... to read more click on the following link:
