We are currently in a series of messages in the gospel of Matthew I am calling Matthew’s Miracles where we are tracing the miracles of Jesus. Within this Matthew series is a miniseries on the Ministry of Miracles (Matthew chapters 3-9). And within that we have important truths concerning the Preparation for a Miraculous Ministry (chapters 3:13 – 4:22). We have gone over some of this, but this is a good time to review and maybe get a better grasp on what is needed to have the Miraculous Ministry of Jesus. And this is what we are after. We are being conformed into the image of Jesus which includes His ministry. We are being made like Jesus in character and word and deed. We continue His work. But to do that we must be prepared. The word of God teaches us what it takes to be prepared for our God-given ministry. This is the highest calling anyone could possibly have.
