The Ministry of Miracles: Defeating the Devil
The topic of Ministry of Miracles will be a series of lessons within the book entitled “The Miracles of Matthew.” I want us to see how Jesus began His ministry of miracles and so learn something of how we are to begin ours and what all that ministry involves. Remember, we are not just reading Matthew as a history book; we are studying the inspired Scripture which is profitable for doctrine and for instruction in righteousness that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2Timothy3:16-17)
Matthew was not just written for our information; it was written for our instruction. Jesus had trained His disciples and before He left the planet He commissioned them to do the same things He had done: go and make disciples, baptizing and teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” (Mt.28:19-20) We do not study the Bible to just learn; we study it to live.
