Veterans In Politics Episode 11 with Darren Henry MP (our last episode of season 1!)

Darren served in the RAF for 26 years having risen through the ranks to Squadron Leader.  He is one of just a handful of RAF veterans in Parliament.

In this episode, he talks about his Windrush Generation roots, the value of working hard, and how he got started in politics.  You never know where a local litter campaign might lead you!

Darren was elected in 2019 in the famous 'Battle of Broxtowe' defeating well-known MP Anna Soubry.  He explains this approach to winning in this episode.

Our host Jonny first met Darren at Conservative Party Conference in 2018 when he was a mere Parliamentary Candidate, at a CampaignForce-hosted Fringe event.  Jonny put Darren on the spot and got him to address the audience, something he did brilliantly, and here we are now, with Darren the MP!

Darren is quite simply inspirational and such a nice guy (we do not think that we have ever seen him not smiling).  His story is one that must be listened to and shared and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
