May we bring God back into our country so that we can bring liberty back into our hearts.

A country that does not support self-reliance, free enterprise, and freedom of conscience is not free.  The first responsibility of a republic is to create an environment where self-reliance is primary, and individualism is protected.  We must rid ourselves of the idea that man is merely a biological machine and that freewill does not exist.  The moment that government takes upon itself the responsibility of creating men as equal, it replaces God and becomes the devil’s own tyrant.  A country that does not believe in freewill will treat everyone as slaves, make invalids of its people, and mold its citizens according to the whims of the moment and rule with the club of political correctness.

A government that does not believe that all men are created equal by God will slide into socialism. The casualties of socialism are freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of personal enterprise, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, freedom of thought, and freedom of self-expression.  We must recognize the difference between God creating man as equal and government creating man as equal.  If God creates man as equal, then man has the freedom to create himself and become whatever he wants to become, to follow his own dreams.  Divinely inspired inequality will always be the fruit of true equality.  If government creates man as equal, we become clones of one another, patterned after the lowest, and self-reliance and freedom are oppressed.  Competition is at the core of democracy.  Socialism takes away self-reliance and individual incentive. Freedom created by God helps us to reach our potential; freedom created by government imposes restrictions, chains us to regulations, and pulls everyone down to the lowest level.  Government creates clones.  God protects our agency, and through law releases freewill.

To government we are fish in a bowl restricted by our environment; to God, who is no respecter of persons, we are his sons and daughters, children of an infinite and eternal being, free agents governed by law, living in a vast, unfathomable universe, made free forever by our faith.
