Linda Tribalism in America Pt II
In a democratic state, when laws break down, tribes no longer having common ground, turn against each other. That is how the left is winning. They claim that conservatives hate women, hate gays, hate lesbians, hate transgenders, hate immigrants, hate the poor, hate the blacks, hate the Hispanics, hate Muslims. They even claim that conservatives have mental illness: homophobia, Xenophobia, gynophobia, Islamophobia, transphobia, misogynist, sexist, racist.
In a recent speech by President Biden entitled “The Continued Battle for the Soul of the Nation,” one of the most divisive speeches I have heard a President give, Joe Biden attacked the tribe he called MAGA Republicans. According to President Biden the MAGA Republicans:
· represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic
· do not respect the Constitution
· do not believe in the rule of law
· do not recognize the will of the people
· refuse to accept the results of a free election
· refuse the right to choose
· refuse the right to privacy
· refuse the right to contraception
· refuse the right to marry who you love
· promote authoritarian leaders
· fan the flames of political violence
· are a threat to our personal rights
· are a threat to the pursuit of justice
· are a threat to the rule of law
· are a threat to the very soul of this country
· are a “clear and present danger” to our democracy
· embrace anger
· thrive on chaos
· live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies
The liberals on the other hand according to Mr. Biden
· honor our Constitution.
· believe in the rule of law.
· respect free and fair elections.
· honor the will of the people.
· reject violence as a political tool.
· believe in honesty and decency
· have respect for others, for patriotism, for liberty, for justice for all, for hope, and for possibilities
To put it into perspective, the Cook Political Report determined that 81, 282,916 voted for Biden in the 2020 election and 74,223,369 voted for Trump. Therefore, according to Biden’s definition, the MAGA Republicans constitute over seventy million Americans. In his speech those are the ones he called “white supremacists and the extremists.” In another speech he called them “semi fascists.”
