The Law of Equality Pt 1

America is the greatest experiment in freedom the earth has ever seen. In the history of the world there have been many attempts at creating a free society. Democracy is not new. The Greeks experimented with democracy. America differs from the Greeks in scale and in scope.

Our model, however, is not the Greeks. Our model is the House of Israel during the time of the judges. We adopted the Judeo-Christian values, particularly the Ten Commandments. James in the New Testament defines the four primary laws of liberty as discussed in earlier podcasts.

1.     The Law of Liberty, which is the Ten Commandments.

2.     The Perfect Law of Liberty, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

3.     The Law of Equality, which is that God is no respecter of Persons

4.     The Royal Law, which is a combination of the previous three laws, called the law of Love. Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.

Perfect liberty can be achieved in no other way than strictly obeying the four laws of Liberty defined by James.

In this Podcast we shall deal with the Law of Equality. In Acts 10:34 we read

“34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:”

 In Romans 10:12 we read:

“12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.”

There are many references in the Holy Bible proving that God is no respecter of persons.

“15  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.” (Leviticus 19: 15)

“17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.” (Deuteronomy 1:17)

“23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.”  (Proverbs 24:23)

“11 For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11)

“9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.” (Ephesians 6:9)

“25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” (Colossians 3:25)

“9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” (James 2:9)

Freewill is inherent in the soul of man. Our spirits were born free. Will is who we are. Will is that which we call consciousness or intelligence or life. It cannot be created or destroyed just as intelligence, or consciousness, or life cannot be created or destroyed. It self-exists, else, where did God come from? Where did intelligence or consciousness or life-force come from? Life does not begin with the physical body. Without the spirit, the physical body has no life. Will self-exists.  Freewill depends upon the existence of law. God organized laws to set our will free that we may reach our potential.  Freewill is inherent in the spirit, called in Genesis, “The Breath of Life.”

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

Agency depends upon knowledge of good and evil. Good and evil depend upon the laws of God. Without law there is no good and there is no evil. The laws of God are absolute; therefore, good is absolute and evil is absolute. Good is obedience to law. Evil is disobedience to law. Obedience to law increases agency.
