Season 4 Podcast 43 “My American Heroes”

I have many heroes, many among the founding fathers, but for me two of the most important political figures in modern times are Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King.

One released the slaves by proclamation. The other released the slaves by acclamation.  One was inspired by a vision, the other by a dream. One sharpened his sword and healed the wounds by softening his pen; the other buried his sword and pierced the festering wounds by sharpening his pen.  One taught himself to read by the Bible. The other taught us how to read the Bible.  The voice of one rang from the requiem of war; the other rang from the pulpit of peace.  One united a nation through conflict; the other united a nation through armistice.  One voice came from the highest office in the land; the other voice came from a lowly prison cell.

Both forced the government to recognize the self-existing equality of all people as stated in our original documents. Both gave their lives for freedom and brotherhood. Both used the power of the pen to define liberty and to galvanize people into doing the right thing.  Both changed the way that we look at each other. And both tied the final knots that united this nation.

Today we have abandoned their principles.  We have trampled on their vision and denied their dream.

One of the threats to our freedom today comes from the liberal left, both black and white, who, while shouting racism, promote racial division for personal and political gain. The liberals accuse conservatives of racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and Islamophobia, saying they hate people of color, hate women, hate gays, hate strangers, and hate Muslims.  It is fiery rhetoric based on a lie intended to divide the nation: blacks against whites, men against women, straights against gays, and citizens against the world.  In the majority of cases, they are pernicious, false, and foolish allegations, emotionally charged, used to incite hate, riot, division, anger, and disharmony.  Invectives have become a bludgeon of the left to knock down any dissenting voice.  When one is accused of racism or sexual harassment, they are assumed guilty without the rule of law.  Shouts of “we believe the victim” hounded the Kavanaugh inquisition, though the charges were spurious and unsubstantiated. Even after the FBI found no evidence of guilt, the harassment continued. But innocence wasn’t the issue.  When coming from the left, the accusations are almost never the issue, proven by the fact that they are always against conservatives and the accusations always die when the cause is lost.  It does not matter how valid, how gross, how disgusting, and how unlawful an act of a liberal is, it is seldom if ever condemned by the left; whereas, the least fault by a conservative is shouted from the halls of congress and broadcast on every liberal network.  For example, the issue with Kavanaugh was not his moral behavior, though that was the cry.  It was the coveted seat on the Supreme Court, and the liberals were willing to do anything, even perjure themselves, to prevent the conservatives from holding that seat.

The liberals want to appear as the saviors of blacks, women, gays, immigrants, and non-Christian religions to guarantee their votes and secure their power.  They judge a nation by the actions of a few.  They wish to silence anyone who dares to speak against the liberal agenda and will stoop to any slander.

As a nation we have become like the leaves of an aspen, we shake at every slander. Even the innocent fear the hammering rhetoric of the left which leaves their tongue so readily.

All laws must apply to all men and all women equally all the time without regard to race, color, or religion.  No laws should favor one race over another.
