Reality is... You are only one person. You are human. You are going through that cancer with your loved one too Or that kidney disease. Or that dementia. Or that - you will in the blank.
Your pain may not be seen. You might not have that diagnosis. But you do have your own things going on behind the curtain.
Whatever your situation, it is important to remember that you, too, are important. All of your emotions, good and bad, about caregiving are not only allowed, but are valid and important.As caregivers, we are reluctant to express these negative feelings for fear we will be judged (or judge ourselves) or don’t want to burden others with our problems.
So it’s time to STOP avoiding your thoughts. STOP brushing off your feelings, STOP putting yourself on the back burner.
The common, often hard to admit feelings that you may experience. Once you can identify these, you are better ready to find solutions.
