When the universe talks, you listen. When it screams, you sit your ass down and take it all in. This week it screamed to me, and whether I was ready or not, I became its captive audience.
"Live the question," was a piece of advice I took away from my conversation on the Support is Sexy podcast, with the fierce and formidable, Elayne Fluker. Elayne will be a guest on the show in the coming weeks, and you should all go pre-order her book,Get Over "I Got It": How to stop playing superwoman, get support & remember that having it all doesn't mean doing it all alone.
UM, OKAY, ELAYNE.
Like the title suggests, the book centers on how as women pursuing it all, we have to recognize we need the support to make sure we're not doing it all ALONE.
I started thinking - as I always do with these conversations - when I FEEL LIKE I have to do it all alone, and how often do I realize that I can't do it all alone. The answer to both was, "almost always."
Then - bam, bam, bam.
I was served 3 lessons on support. Some easy, some I really didn't want to receive, but nonetheless, all insanely valuable.
We are the teachers of the lessons we're learning. I am learning that support is a symbiotic relationship; the more we give, the more we get. The more we ask, the more we answer.
X,
KLG
