The farther it travels, the less effective it is in its lethal effect. It is not an effective weapon of war. You do not hide, say in your basement and aim at the enemy down the hollow using a 12 gauge. No, the preferred weapon would be an AR-15 or a AK-47 semi-automatic. Greater range, power and lethality.
