This episode is all about catastrophizing or catastrophic thinking which is a thought process where we jump to the worst case scenario, usually with very little information to inform the conclusion we jump to.
This is one of the most common cognitive distortions and yet people are left thinking they are the only ones that do it and feel like there is something wrong because of a lack of education and understanding about the mind and brain and how they work.
The brain has an automatic negative bias stemming from a survival tool to assess danger and treat around us... but this can go awry when unchecked by intentional awareness of our thoughts.
Get in there and give it a listen for more on how to recognize and work with this type of thought pattern.
