Today's episode is inspired by this Mark Twain quote "Independence is loyalty to one's best self and principles, and this is often disloyalty to the general idols and fetishes" I did this post on Instagram about it and wanted to expand my thoughts here were I have more space to roam.
"loyalty to one's best self" stood out to me, so I spend a little time getting curious about what that takes.
What considerations do you have to make? What commitments do you have to have? Are there things you need to start doing or stop doing in order to be loyal to your best self?
Another consideration is that last part about disloyalty to general idols or fetishes. What that means to me is that you can not be true to your authentic, best self and to everyone else. It just doesn't work that way.
Choosing your best self means you will absolutely disappoint the expectations of society as a whole. Is that something you're prepared for?
Get in there and give it a listen!
