We all need to give ourselves the reminders and pep talks, but there is some complexity, like with most things human there…
Celebrating your wins is really hard if you can’t even acknowledge them.. when we’re so focused on the next thing or comparing to someone else… even when that someone is us from a different time.
While we need to be our own best supporter, until we get there and even after, external validation is always going to get our attention because we’re human and we have evolved to be social creatures and depend on social support for safety and survival…. it’s both/ and situation like most.
