Todd Olsen has extensive experience in strategic communications and political consulting gained from more than two decades at the highest levels of government, politics, and business. His clients have spanned the gamut: from local non-profit start-ups, to providing strategic and creative communications skills to business leaders, to implementing highly personalized communications strategies for four presidential campaigns.
Olsen is President and founding partner of Upstream, an award winning, Austin-based digital and social media company. An industry leader in digital communications, Upstream’s work and groundbreaking accuracy in audience building and message targeting and placement was the subject of case studies mentioned in The Washington Post and The New York Times. Upstream earned recognition as the winner of the first-ever American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) Pollie Award recognizing the effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technology in American political campaigns.
Prior to forming Upstream, he managed political and public policy campaigns and served as Executive Vice President of Karl Rove + Company. Todd received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
