I have been going over the speeches of Barack Obama, and found some real jewels. I started reading a speech given to Congress hesitant to use it in a podcast episode because it was almost 50 minutes long. But by the end of the address, I knew that I had read a masterpiece.
President Obama was offering a solution to the seemingly insurmountable problem of Health Care that was compassionate, intelligent, practical, and very moving. I originally intended to split the subject of healthcare into two podcast episodes - but I eventually realized that Obama covers most of the relevant information in his address to Congress. So I am asking you to stay with President Obama - one of the greatest orators of our time - for the next 50 minutes. Listen to how a government can meet the needs of its citizens when we all come together and support someone who is dedicated to serving the needs of his or her people.
