Brazilian director Renata Pinheiro and her co-writer and producer Sergio Oliveira discuss their new film King Car, about a transhumanist future where man and machine can become one, where the relationship between cars and humans becomes entirely symbiotic. They discuss how their film emerged from discussion of a real law that was passed in Brazil, and how the script evolved to respond to fascism, to embody romantic ideals, and create a picture of a future that is, in many ways, already here.
