This episode has two cocktails, the Merry Kill-mas and the Hop, Skip, and a Jump. Recipes below:
MERRY KILL-MAS
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. Kahlua with peppermint extract
1 oz. heavy cream
Candy cane
Build this drink in a glass over ice. Stir well with a candy cane and serve.
HOP, SKIP, AND JUMP
2 oz. Buffalo Trace Bourbon
1 oz. Cranberry simple syrup (recipe below)
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. Grand Marnier
Soda water
Combine all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into tall glass with fresh ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with orange peel and cranberries from the syrup jar rolled in fine sugar and left to dry and dotted with orange bitters.
CRANBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP
Combine 1 part water and 2 parts brown sugar in a pot over medium heat. simmer until sugar is dissolved and add fresh cranberries. Simmer for another 2 minutes. Pour the mixture into a mason jar and let cool. Add 3 parts bourbon. Seal jar and let sit at room temperature for a week or longer.
