Mishlei 11:3 - Rabbeinu Yonah on Tam, Yashar, and Bogeid
תֻּמַּת יְשָׁרִים תַּנְחֵם וְסֶלֶף בֹּגְדִים יְשָׁדֵּם:
This evening (11/15/21), in our Monday Night Mishlei Shiur, we learned Rabbeinu Yonah's commentary on last week's pasuk. Rabbeinu Yonah begins with an exposition on the personalities of the tam and the yashar and then proceeds to explain our pasuk on that basis. I'll be honest: I was NOT optimistic about how tonight's shiur would turn out. Thankfully, the Monday Night Mishlei Crew pulled through. Not only were we able to understand (most of) Rabbeinu Yonah's ideas, but we were also able to grasp his nuanced approach to our pasuk. Even though this was a very different kind of shiur than our usual Monday Night Mishlei, it proved to be a triumphant evening in the world of ideas.
