Mishlei 11:3 - The Integrity of the Upright
תֻּמַּת יְשָׁרִים תַּנְחֵם וְסֶלֶף בֹּגְדִים יְשָׁדֵּם:
This evening (11/8/21), in our Monday Night Mishlei Shiur, we tackled a VERY difficult pasuk in which literally every word needed to be defined conceptually. Not only that, but this pasuk introduced us to not one, not two, but THREE new Mishleic personality types: the tam, the yashar, and the bogeid. The beginning of our analysis was all over the place, but with a combination of teamwork and clear thinking, we were able to emerge with an awesome idea.
The shiur officially ends 90 minutes in. In the afterparty we attempt to learn the Malbim's approach but abort our efforts. We then briefly discuss Mishlei methodology before calling it a night.
