אָח נִפְשָׁע מִקִּרְיַת עֹז, [וּמִדְיָנִים] (ומדונים) כִּבְרִיחַ אַרְמוֹן:

In our morning Mishlei shiur (11/25/20 at YBT) we revisited Mishlei 18:19, which we learned this past Monday, hoping to refine the idea we got from Rabbeinu Yonah. We learned through the Meiri, both in the nigleh and the nistar, and we dabbled in the Chukah (a.k.a. R' Yosef Kimchi), but didn't find anything we liked better than Rabbeinu Yonah. In fact, we ended up noticing a major disagreement in the commentaries as to whether the "lottery solution" could even resolve fraternal quarrelling, or whether fraternal quarrelling was the limit.

If you're interested in learning more about the Meiri's nigleh/nistar approach to Mishlei, check out my blog post: https://kolhaseridim.blogspot.com/2014/07/mishlei-methodology-meiri-nigleh-and.html
