1 Cor 14: 1 Pursue love, GOD and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
• 1 Cor 14:12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.
1 Cor 14:1-5 EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching). AMP
EAGERLY PURSUE SO LETS slow down and go over 1 Cor 12-14
1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts,

2. Ministries
3. Operations (verse 4 & 5)
brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
The spirituals are for ministerial callings, graces and anointings:
4 There are diversities of gifts (spirituals 1 from verse 1), but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries (spirituals 2 from verse 1), but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities (spirituals 3 from verse 1) but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
3 Roots of Manifestations:
1. Holy Spirit
2. Evil Spirits
3. Flesh
9 Spiritual Gifts:
Bible says to covet the gifts. Must know about them
• 3 God speaks – revelation manifestations – 1, 2, 7 - Wisdom, knowledge, discerning of spirits
• 3 Do things – Power manifestations – 3, 4, 5
• 3 Speak – Man utterance manifestations – 6, 8, 9
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues
3 Kinds:
1. Sign tongues in 1 Cor 14
2. Ministry or public tongues
3. Personal or edification tongues (1 Cor 14:3)
