Pastor Matt continues our sermon series in the gospel of Mark looking at Mark 11:12-25.

Old Testament Passages on Fig Trees and God’s Judgment:

• Micah 7:1-7

And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant - these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples. Isaiah 56:6-7 

Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the LORD.  Jeremiah 7:11

Communion Reflection Questions:

• Are there areas of my life that I need to repent because I am bearing leaves but no fruit?
• Am I going through the motions, busy with religious work, but my heart is hardened or indifferent to God?
• Where do I need to repent of my desire to be more focused on doing things for God than resting in and moving in obedience to God?
• Who do I exclude from hearing God’s Word in the name of religion? 
• How do I need to pray for myself and others in light of the reality that Jesus is both Savior and Judge?
