Today I’m talking with life and wellness coach for female athletes Lisa Hesse.
Lisa’s approach to coaching is so unique and needed-she helps women find a way to transition their identity as an athlete into a sustainable way of life as a multi dimensional person (but this episode will be relatable for everyone, not just athletes!)
Lisa is a longtime runner and running has been a significant connection point for her across major “life quakes.” But at a certain point she discovered that there was a lot more underlying the exercise itself and sought to understand what being an athlete can do for your confidence, empowerment and well being.
I love this conversation because I think a lot of people assume female athletes don’t struggle with food or body image-but that couldn’t be further from the truth and Lisa shares so much of her own personal experience and the work she does as a coach to create space for female athletes.
We talk all about what its like to be a female athlete and not fit the “look” society expects.
Lisa also shares her recent diagnosis with an autoimmune condition that is impacting her ability to move and how she’s reconciling that with her identity as a runner.
This episode is packed with so many useful tools if you’re struggling to move and figure out a sustainable way to feel better in your body.
