Most people base their success on the achievement of goals and desires. The great high paying job, a happy marriage, wonderful children, name and fame, and a beautiful home with a white picket fence. This might be called the American dream or the highest achievement the one can attain. However, even those with the greatest riches, and fame or the best families may still feel unfulfilled, lonely, or depressed. How can this be? ?The answer is that true success does not come from the fulfillment of desires as that type of success is transitory. You fulfill one desire then you feel great as you are then experiencing your own state of fulfillment but you conclude that the success, happiness, and enjoyment are there because you have fulfill your desire. With this misconception when you again feel unfulfilled or unhappy you will believe that you have to fulfill another desire to again feel fulfilled and happy. This then becomes an unending process or up and down!
The true formula for success does not come from fulfilling desires but comes from knowing the state of fulfillment that is always there and that you only thought you could tap into by fulfilling a desire. Through the practice of meditation you can directly experience the true I or Me that you are that if forever established in success.
