If you get a flat tire you can decide that perhaps it saved you from an accident. Then your mind is your friend. If your mind is filled with worry and anger, it is your enemy. The mind reacts but you the Knower of your mind has a choice as to where you would like to place your attention. You are the only one that can make yourself happy or unhappy so through meditation and by knowing the Knower of the mind you become aware that the choice is with you and remain free from suffering!
